He replaces interim director Jeanne Brako. “We are delighted with the selection of Dr. Kevin Britz for the CSWS directorship,” said John Ninnemann, dean of the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences and chair of the CSWS director search committee. “Kevin impressed everyone with a clear understanding and vision for the Center consistent with that of the Advisory Board and staff. He is a proven team builder and fundraiser, bringing with him ambitious but realistic goals for the Center.” Dr. Britz has experience with historical organizations across the nation. In 1982, he worked as museum curator, and later as deputy director, for the Stearns County Historical Society in Minnesota. He moved on to The High Desert Museum in Oregon, where he served as director of exhibits, senior curator, and vice president for programs. His experience extends into the higher education arena as well. In 2003, Dr. Britz began teaching at Kenyon College in Ohio. There he served as a visiting assistant professor of American studies and associate director of the Kenyon Academic Program. Currently, he is an assistant professor of history at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Britz earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Knox College, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in U.S. history from the University of Arizona. Dr. Britz will begin his new duties in July 2008.
