City announces 4th of July schedule

DURANGO, Colo. – The City of Durango has announced its schedule for the 4th of July holiday.

City administrative offices, the Durango Public Library, Chapman Hill and Mason Center will be closed Fri., July 4. The Durango Community Recreation Center will, however, be open from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The trolley will run its regular schedule on July 4, and limited service will be available on the Opportunity Bus. There will be no regular bus service.  Metered parking downtown is free on the holiday.

All residential and commercial trash and recycling customers will be serviced according to the regular Friday schedule. Commercial customers are asked to place all containers out for collection before 6 a.m., while residential customers are asked to place their containers out by 8 a.m. 

The Recycling Center will be closed on July 4, but recyclers can drop off glass, metal cans or paper in the bins at the Recycle Center or one of the drop-off stations.
