DURANGO, Colo. - La Plata County has contracted Downey Excavation Inc. to reconstruct the unpaved portion of CR 213, from approximately 1.6 miles north of Weasleskin Bridge, north, for a distance of 0.9 miles.

Work will begin on Mon., Aug. 18, 2008 and is scheduled for completion by Fri., Nov. 21, 2008. The proposed improvements will replace drainage culverts, install retaining walls, and prepare a wider road surface in preparation for asphalt paving scheduled for 2009.

Regular working hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.  During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane while work is in progress, and a pilot car may be used to safely guide vehicles through the work zone. Delays of up to 20 minutes should be anticipated; however, every attempt will be made to minimize traffic delays during peak morning and afternoon commuting hours. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and to drive with caution through the work zone for their own safety and the safety of the work crews.
