DURANGO, Colo. – Durango Parks and Recreation will host the final race in The Town Series, presented by First National Bank of Durango, Sun., Sept. 21.
Kicking-off from the Animas Mountain Trailhead at 10 a.m., the classic Animas Mountain Mug Run features a challenging 6.6-mile, a new 4.5-mile short course and a fun one-mile course. Casual walkers and serious runners are both invited to participate, and all will receive a commemorative mug created by local ceramic artist Milt Beens.
Zia Taqueria will host the post-Series celebration and ceremony. Racers, friends and family members, will enjoy “fresh mex” food, beverages and live music by Annie Brooks.
Pre-registration for the Animas Mountain Mug Run is available through Sun., Sept. 14 by 6 p.m. at the Durango Community Recreation Center or online at www.active.com. Check-in takes place from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning at the Animas Mountain Trailhead. Pre-registration fee is $15, while late registration and race-day registrants pay $20.
