DURANGO, Colo. – In an effort to help young professionals (21-39 years of age) learn more about non-profit board involvement, the Young Professionals of Durango (YPOD), in partnership with Bank of the San Juans, will host a “Durango Board Academy,” Thurs., Aug. 21, 4 to 7 p.m., in the Larkspur Conference Room.
The workshop’s purpose is to inform young professionals of the procedures for becoming involved on a charitable board of directors, and the responsibilities that come with an appointment. A hands-on workshop, the “Board Academy” has been designed to help novice board members become more effective non-profit leaders.
Cost is $30 per person and includes a light dinner and materials. Reservations and pre-payment are required. Contact the Durango Chamber of Commerce, 247.0312, for registration and further information.
The Young Professionals of Durango is a program of the Durango Chamber of Commerce that engages professionals, age 21-39 in educational, social and philanthropic activities.
