General Information and Fishing Regulations

General Information and Regulations
According to the recently published 1996-2000 State of Colorado fishing season information and wildlife property directory put out by the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the the following general information applies to angling in Colorado.

Season Dates
From Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 of each year the Waters of Colorado are open to fishing year-round except as otherwise noted in their regulations.

Fishing Licenses
A fishing license is required for people 16 years of age and older. Children under the age of 16 are not required to have a fishing license. The bag limit for children under 16 is half the daily bag and possesion limit. It is not necessary that a licensed angler accompany a person under age 16.

License Fees
A resident fishing license is $20.25 per year. For residents 64 years and older the cost is $10.25. Nonresident Fishing Licenses is $40.25 per year. A five day license is $18.25, a one day license is $5.25. Please note that the $.25 fee on each license goes to the Colorado Search and Rescue fund.
