If you’re stuck in the throes of cold and needing some inspiration, Durango has the perfect opportunity this weekend. The Backcountry Film Festival will once again be held Friday evening January 17. It’s hosted by Durango Nature Studies and focuses on the enjoyment of being outside year round. We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, and we have access to untouched wilderness in our backyard. This is an excellent way to appreciate some of the ways to utilize the outdoors around us.
If winter sports aren’t your forte, Durango still offers a variety of activities despite the cold. Live music at The Belle and The Office frequents the calendar, The Roost offers Trivia Factory on Tuesday nights, and Animas City Theatre offers unique shows and movies throughout the year. Of course, our variety of restaurants is second to none, especially for a small mountain town! Durango is full of activities and entertainment, or even the ability to unplug and enjoy the quiet.
