As Summer begins here in Durango, live music and entertainment is on the top of nearly everyone’s agenda. Here are a few ideas if you’re interested in getting involved in the local music scene.
1. Secret Garden Summer Concert Series
The Rochester Hotel hosts a community concert series through the summer months every year in Durango. This community concert series supports 10 nonprofit organizations in Durango’s growing music community. Through a $10 donation/cover charge for each concert, these nonprofits are able to sustain themselves. Corporate sponsors, The Rochester’s donation of time and resources, and a community foundation, this event is running for the 5th year in a row, and hopefully many more.

- iAM MUSIC Festival
The iAm MUSIC Festival looks to promote planet-awareness, creative autonomy, and awareness of issues that extend much further than Durango. As a local event, focused on the well-being of people as a whole iAM MUSIC Festival is a highly coveted summer event in Durango. Held at 11th St Station, the semi outdoor/indoor venue is ideal for relaxing during the summer and supporting a great cause.

- The Animas City Theatre Events and Shows
The Animas city Theatre hosts many great local (and otherwise) artists throughout the year, but the Summer season is an especially great time to experience this small theatre, located just off of South Main Ave. Also featuring movies, event times pick up as June comes around.
Tickets are generally no more than $40.
