Not your average chocolate shop!
It’s Chocolate with a passion! At least these chocolatiers are passionate about it!
Some of you may know that I am a chocolate connoisseur so when we happened upon this little business, tucked sweetly into the the quaint and scenic Durango, you know I’d have to drop in.
Walking through the door, we were promptly greeted and handed a sample of their hot chocolate (in real cups) made from their “smelting choctolate”. When they’re making chocolates, the leftover chocolate is collected and sold in bags for hot cocoa and it’s divine!
Here, there are no melting chocolates or tins of cocoa. These ladies order the dried fermented cacao beans from Brazil and Bolivia and roast and grind them their selves! Who does that! We were given pods from both, crushed the pods and sampled the nibs from each country, discovering the subtle yet distinct flavor of both. Truly a chocolate experience you won’t want to miss in Durango.
