EVENT DESCRIPTION

Ride The Rockies in an event of The Denver Post Community Foundation. The Denver Post Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves to improve and enrich the lives of those in our community by raising and distributing funds to metro-area and Colorado nonprofit agencies serving the areas of arts, youth, education and human services.

Ride The Rockies route changes every year, but always includes a few challenging mountain passes and an array of beautiful scenery. Each day, your route can be as short as 45 miles, or as long as 100 miles. This year, the 35th Annual Ride The Rockies will start and end in Durango. This 6 day, 418 mile journey will include Cortez, Norwood and Ouray County. Riders will be challenged with encounters on Lizard Head Pass, Red Mountain Pass, Molas Pass and Coal Bank Pass, totaling 28,484 feet of climbing.
