Durango Fiesta Days

This week and next we celebrate Durango Fiesta Days, an annual celebration of our local heritage. Since 1935, this celebration has been a way to recognize Durango’s culture. It used to be called the Spanish Trails Fiesta, then changed to Navajo Trail Fiesta, and is now called Durango Fiesta Days.

The next week and a half there will be a variety of events, starting with the Queen Contest on Saturday, July 22.

Next Tuesday, July 25, the 8th Annual Snow Top Exceptional Rodeo and Petting Zoo will take place from 10-4.

Thursday, July 27 is a full day. There will be Team Roping Slack and A BBQ/Pie Auction/Street Dance.

The Rodeo is a favorite Fiesta Days event! It will be held July 28 and 29 (two performances on this day), honoring First Responders, Military, and Breast Cancer awareness.

Another favorite event is the parade, which will take place on July 29 at 10 am and will go from 6th and Main down to 11th and Main. That evening there will be a Chuck Wagon cook off and BBQ, followed by the Queen Coronation at 6 pm.

On Sunday, July 30, there will be a Pancake Breakfast, Cowboy Church, and Championship 4th Performance.

This is such a fun weekend, come celebrate part or all of Durango Fiesta Days. Here’s a link to the website for more information: http://durangofiestadays.com/
