One of the unique aspects of the pandemic we have all seen is the creative thinking and ideas of so many people. We have all had to make new traditions, think “outside of the box” for special occasions, and find new ways to entertain ourselves.
On a local level, we have seen this with a rise of virtual and at-home experiences. One of the unique ideas comes from The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado. They are offering “Community Concerts Reimagined.” Instead of gathering together at the Rochester’s Secret Garden as usual, on July 8 and 15, KSUT and KDUR will be playing concerts with local artists, and listeners can listen in their own “secret gardens.”
Donations from these events support many local arts organizations who have been impacted by COVID-19. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support these organizations:
- Be Frank
- Dancing Spirit
- Durango Arts Center
- Durango Film Festival
- Durango Playfest
- KDUR
- KSUT
- Music in the Mountains
- Pine River Arts
- Stillwater Music
