With Christmas behind us, it’s time to focus on the New Year! Durango may be cold, but the cold never stops our town from celebrating New Year’s Eve. New Year’s eve parties are a fun way to ring in the start of 2020, and Durango has some great options.
Purgatory hosts their annual New Year’s Eve party with a buffet dinner at Hoody’s. Then, there is a special torchlight parade down the mountain at 6 pm. This unique event lights up the sky with fireworks. The night continues with live music at the Night Rail Jam. Purgatory offers childcare for kids ages 2-10, so parents may enjoy their night and kids are watched by licensed staff!
Derailed Pour House will be hosting a Decades Party—wear a costume from your favorite decade. There will be live music, a ball drop at midnight, and champagne upon arrival/toast at midnight. VIP tickets are also available. This is a great and easy option in Downtown Durango.
If you have young kids, you may want to consider an “East Coast” New Year’s party—and celebrate when the ball drops on the East Coast for an earlier evening. As the year comes to a close, we all hope you have a fantastic New Year’s celebration and start of 2020.
