Mother’s Day Weekend Suggestions in Durango

As we approach Mother’s Day this weekend, we have some fun suggestions for the moms in your life (or just some great ideas to take advantage of time in Durango this weekend)!

Gallery Walk: This weekend is the annual Spring Gallery Walk, on Friday from 5-9. Durango features many art galleries, and there is such a variety—much of it is created here, as well. Stroll downtown and enjoy our many art galleries. It’s a peaceful and beautiful way to enjoy the evening. Here’s a link to local galleries: http://durangoartgalleries.com/

If you’d like a Sunday brunch, we have a couple suggestions. The Animas River Grille (in the Doubletree Hotel) will serve on Sunday from 10-2, seating every 30 minutes. They offer a starter/salad station, breakfast, main brunch, carved meat, and assorted sweet tables for $43/person. The views are perfect and it’s a great relaxing brunch location. Seasons Rotisserie and Grill will be serving all day, from 11-7, reservations recommended. Durango has so many fantastic restaurants, so if you prefer more casual or even take out options, you’re sure to find it here.

Mother’s Day Train: The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will have musicians serenading their passengers, and offer chocolate and a flower for mothers on the train ride this year, as well as a special rose wine for purchase. If you’re looking for a great time to take the train ride, now is the perfect opportunity! Here’s the link for more info: https://www.durangotrain.com/events/mothers-day-train-adventure#.XNCi2ZNKhAY

We hope you find a special way to celebrate this weekend, and Happy Mother’s Day!
