DURANGO, CO (July 9th, 2016) – MONDAY NIGHT BLUES JAM hosted by Durango’s freshest blues band “MISSY and the BLUETONES”. Get the Blues every Monday Night from 7pm – 10ish. MISSY and the BLUETONES will kick-off the night with a short set while YOU sign the sign-up sheet with your respective instrument that you want to jam the blues with. You will be called onto the stage according to the signage. And then the Blues Jam is on. This blues extravaganza is Every Monday Night and approved by the community with sponsorships from Denny’s, Durango Cab Co., KDUR, Tamarron Vacation Rentals, Durango Coffee Co., and Moe’s on 937 Main Ave in Durango.
About the band: Missy and the Bluetones is fronted by the charismatic “Missy” who MTV.com critics have called a “voice of a giant” … a girl with “depth and a gorgeous voice”. Lead vocalist and bassist, Missy Percifield, had resigned her scholarship to a prestigious classical music school and traveled the country, steeping herself in other music genres – especially the blues. She recruited award-winning guitarist, Darren Stroud, and together they added the groove talents of Clay Lowder to create this modernized yet traditional blues band. As individual musicians, they have shared stages with just about everyone in the business, including artists such as Rolling Stones’ MICK TAYLOR, blues-pianist JIMMY WALKER, saxophonist DAVID SANBORN, Muddy Waters’ guitarist BOB MARGOLIN, ROD PIAZZA, TOMMY CASTRO, DELBERT MCCLINTON, B.B. KING, BILLY BRANCH, and BUDDY GUY to name a few. Each musician in this trio has had numerous articles written specifically about them, including a mention in SPIN MAGAZINE, LIVING BLUES, and GUITAR PLAYER. Missy and the Bluetones’ live shows will be fun, energetic, engaging, and always giving the most to the audience.
