Durango is an enchanting holiday town. It’s the time of the year people come from near and far to celebrate the holidays, and one of the most spectacular features is the annual Polar Express Train Ride. The story of the classic children’s book comes alive on the train with favorite characters such as the Hero Boy, Billy, the elves, hobo, conductor and chefs. Each passenger receives hot chocolate and a treat, and the story of The Polar Express will be read on the way to visit the North Pole.
The North Pole is filled with lights and images of the town and its shops. Santa visits each car and on the way back Christmas carols will be sung. Many passengers wear their pajamas on the train, which makes it a festive excursion. Live reindeer will be back at the museum and passengers have an opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap to ask for Christmas presents and take professional photos.
