McDonald’s Twilight Nights Race Series

If you are into Nordic skiing, snow shoeing, or fat biking, you will want to be a part of this exciting series of races at Purgatory Resort.  It’s the Twilight Nights series, presented by our friends at McDonald’s and organized by the Durango Nordic Center.

Headlamps required!

Twilight Nights is not your typical Wednesday night out.  Set at the base of Purgatory Resort, this short track race series is for nordic skiers, fat bikers, and snowshoers to battle it out in the dark, up and down punishing terrain and around quick turns while being cheered on by crowds of spectators.

Dates:

The races will be held on four consecutive Wednesday nights.  The final race in the series, on the opening night of Snowdown, will be a special “triathlon” format.  Sign up as an individual, or throw your name in a hat to be matched up with teammates.

Race dates:  Jan 8  |  Jan 15  |  Jan 22  |  Jan 29

  • Location: Base area — Purgatory

Just $10 per race.  Do just one, or do them all.   We will tally points throughout the series, and there will be prizes for individual race winners and series points winners.  We’ll also have plenty of giveaways at each race.

Schedule:

Registration:  5 – 5:45pm in Purgy’s.

Race:  6pm

Post-race festivities:  Drinks, prizes, and good times in Purgy’s right after the races.

Gear:

No gear?  No problem.  Thanks to our supporting sponsors, we have a limited number of fat bikes and snowshoes available for you to use, free of charge.
