This Saturday, August 24, is the quintessential event for beer lovers—The San Juan Brewfest. There will be over 50 breweries, more than 100 beers, and live music. The event benefits United Way of Southwest Colorado.
The fun takes place at Buckley Park, in the heart of downtown Durango, and will go from 1-5 (unless you have VIP tickets). There will be food available for purchase, with some great options: Mariana’s Authentic Cuisine, Street Food Blvd., and Rotary Club of Durango.
The list of breweries is extensive, and such a fun way to sample the variety of craft breweries. We’ll have several of our local favorites: Animas Brewing Company, Carver Brewing Company, Ska Brewing Company, Steamworks, and more. In addition, there will be breweries from all over, with a lot of Colorado options!
This year’s bands will feature Ron Artis II & The Truth, a heart and soul singer from Hawaii, as the headliner and Spidercat, a blues band from the front range. In addition to a fun day of beer tasting, music, and food, all city of Durango buses are free on Saturday! This includes the Trolley, which stops every 20 minutes on Main Avenue in Durango. This is a great way to safely enjoy the activities at the Brewfest.
