San Juan Symphony – Bernstein and Brahms

The young Brahms was supposed to write Beethoven’s next great symphony. Overcoming the intense scrutiny of his works, Johaness Brahms created a majestic First Symphony, at times thunderous and severe, then redemptive and serene. The San Juan Symphony matches that energy with Leonard Bernstein’s personal and uplifting choral work, Chichester Psalms, featuring a large combined choir with singers from both Farmington and Durango.
