Astronaut Ricky Arnold, who has been keeping a close eye on Hurricane Florence from the International Space Station, shared a majestic view of the giant spiral early Friday.
“#HurricaneFlorence makes landfall this morning,” the NASA spaceman tweeted to his almost 50,000 followers.
Arnold, 54, a flight engineer and former science teacher in Maryland, is part of Expedition 55 that launched to the ISS in March.
On Wednesday, he tweeted two photographs of the churning hurricane with Cape Hatteras, NC, in the foreground.
“The crew of @Space_Station is thinking of those who will be affected,” he wrote from his perch about 250 miles above Earth.
