La Plata County Residential Transactions for July

We have the latest La Plata County Residential Real Estate numbers for our blog this week, and it was an interesting month! With 132 total sales, this is the highest number of sales we have had for any month thus far in 2019. Also, this July is higher than any July since prior to 2011!

Year to date, we are at 633 total sales compared to 649 total sales last year at this time. While July was a strong month, we still haven’t exceeded the total volume of 2018. However, since we have noted a bit of a slowing in 2019 in previous months, it is fantastic to see such a solid month in terms of total number of transactions.

In terms of median sales price, it is currently $377, 250. While it is still lower than where 2018 ended, it’s on the high end historically for median sales price in La Plata County. The average days on the market is down to 124, which is lower than any year since prior to 2011, so we are also seeing a fast sales cycle.

All things considered, July was a great month in La Plata County. August tends to be one of our stronger months for total transactions, and typically our fall market stays fairly strong; usually we see a surge in October. As always, we welcome any questions on the market.
