Durango Celtic Festival

Durango has no shortage of entertainment and festivals. We are a small town, but we offer so much in terms of culture and activities. This weekend is no exception; we are home to the 5th Annual Durango Celtic Festival.

March 9-12, Durango will host this festival, and it’s sure to be a hit. In fact, the last couple of years they have actually sold out of weekend passes, so look early if you’re interested! The festival features award-winning bands Solas, Colcannon, Goitse & Barrule. There are also several additional bands performing throughout the festival.

Performances will be held downtown, at the Henry Strater Theatre and the Irish Embassy Pub, starting Thursday evening. In addition to the performances, several workshops will be held throughout the weekend. This is such a neat feature of this festival: it’s truly an opportunity to learn and grow in this area. Topics include: beginning harp, button accordion, fiddle, Irish Fiddle, guitar, Gaelic singing and much more. Various artists lead these workshops, so if you’re interested in the Celtic music scene, this is the place for you!

Whether you are a local or looking for a reason to visit Durango, the Durango Celtic Festival offers the perfect excuse to go out for the evening, or spend a weekend enjoying live music. We hope you enjoy this local festival!
