Durango, CO – The legendary songwriter and former lead-singer of the multi-platinum rock band Live, Ed Kowalczyk, comes tothe Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, Sunday, Mar. 22, 2015, 7:30 p.m.

With a voice that has attracted legions of fans for more than two decades, Kowalczyk presents a new unplugged production of some of rock’s most profound anthems: Throwing Copper Unplugged – 20th Anniversary Celebration. The tour commemorates the seminal Live album, along with a few surprises.

Kowalczyk’s band Live became one of the most successful and enduring alternative bands with more than 20 million albums sold worldwide. Among this catalogue are alternative rock’s iconic hits such as “Lightning Crashes,” “I Alone,” and “Selling the Drama,” and others which have been responsible for shaping the musical landscape for alternative rock around the globe.

Kowalczyk opened a new chapter in 2009 with the launch of his solo career. He released his widely acclaimed debut solo album, Alive, in 2010, which spawned the hit singles “Grace” and “Stand” and set the stage for sold-out tours throughout the U.S., Europe, Australia and South America. In 2012, Kowalczyk offered up a shorter set of new music on the follow-up EP entitled, The Garden, a collection of five new songs plus five remixes. Kowalczyk’s latest album is The Flood and The Mercy, recently released.

One of the main elements that has enabled Kowalczyk to maintain a devoted fan base is the substantial and durable nature of his lyrics, which have often reflected his personal and spiritual concerns. He is said to write songs that are not finite and will long resonate.
