Tickets expected to sell out early for popular United Way of SW Colorado fundraiser
Durango, CO – Beer aficionados by the thousands will once again converge on Durango’s Buckley Park Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, 1-5 p.m., during the 18 th Annual San Juan Brewfest, a benefit for the United Way of Southwest Colorado.
Tickets are now on sale for the event that has sold out for the past two years.
Billed as the largest beer festival in the southwest, San Juan Brewfest will feature 54 breweries from throughout the country, including new participants Goose Island Beer Company (Chicago, Ill.), Full Sail Brewing Company (Hood River, Ore.), Melvin Brewing Company (Alpine, Wyo.), and Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits (San Diego, Calif.).
All six of Durango’s local breweries – Animas Brewing, Brew, Carver’s, Durango, Ska and Steamworks – will be on hand as well.
The Sweetwater String Band will headline the bluegrass musical performances that also include opening acts Liver Down the River and Hog Magundy. Five food vendors will be offering food for sale.
“We sold out early last year, so we’re trying to encourage folks to not wait until the day of the event,” said Tim Walsworth, executive director of the Durango Business Improvement District (BID), which is assisting in the event coordination. “Brewfest is a ton of fun supporting a terrific organization that does so much good work in our
community, so we truly appreciate everyone’s support.”
Four ticket types are available:
VIP – $70 each – includes 5 oz. souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings, early entry at noon (instead of regular opening at 1 p.m.), access to VIP Lounge during the Brewfest (with shaded seating and a meal from Zia Taqueria), event t-shirt, invite to a private party with the breweries the night before the Brewfest (5-7 p.m. at Steamworks Brewing Co.).
Upgraded General Admission – $45 each – includes 5 oz. souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings, early entry at 12:30 p.m. (instead of regular opening at 1p.m.), event t-shirt.
General Admission – $30 each – includes 5 oz. souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings, (entry at 1 p.m.).
Designated Driver – $15 each – Designated Drivers receive a coupon good for free non-alcoholic drinks as a reward for helping others get home safely.
The San Juan Brewfest is a 21-and- older event, and dogs will not be admitted.
