Call to Artists – TOP a juried garment design exhibition

TOP is a juried garment design exhibition and auction fundraiser to support programs for the Durango Art Center

Artists who enter will be provided a blank garment – men’s-style T-shirt, women’s long-sleeve, V-neck tunic – to embellish and reconstruction as they wish.  Artists are encouraged to use any techniques they like to refashion their garments including printing, dyeing, sewing and beading. 

The one-night production will feature a cocktail party and jury-selected fashion show of the submitted garments, followed by a live auction.

The evening will also honor the later patron of the arts Morley Ballantine, former Durango Herald chairman and editor.  Selected items from Ballantine’s extensive collection of designer clothing, shoes and bathing caps will be restyled by local artists and on display for the event.
