City of Durango partners with “Building Homes for Heroes” for Labor Day Sunday event
Durango, CO – The City of Durango will again host the popular hot rod and motorcycle parade on Sunday morning of the upcoming Labor Day weekend. The event is held in conjunction with the area’s traditional motorcycle rally that spreads across the Four Corners region.
Everyone is invited to support “Building Homes for Heroes” by attending the Veterans Benefit Burrito Breakfast ($10) served under the tent in the City’s Transit Center (8th Street and Camino del Rio) parking lot beginning at 8 a.m. A veteran’s dedication ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. including a blessing of the bikes. Across from the Transit Center, classic cars and hot rods will be on display in the First National Bank parking lot. The Main Avenue parade will begin at 11 a.m. sharp with the hot rods followed immediately by the motorcycles.
According to Bob Kunkel, CBD Business Development Manager for the City of Durango, “The parade is very popular with the bikers that visit the area and an important addition to a full weekend of rally events. For the hundreds of spectators that line the streets of downtown, there’s no other parade as heart-pounding as hundreds of shiny motorcycles roar and rumble up Main Avenue.”
The event is organized by the City of Durango and supported by sponsorships from Durango Party Rental, and Durango Harley Davidson.
