As noted by Chris Jones in Variety, “The laughs are plenty… a terrific group outing, suitable for the entire family.”

Advance press material has noted, however, that special support across the country has come from The Red Hat Society, since its “male” reincarnation with Partlow and Joseph several years ago.

“The Red Hat philosophy of ‘silliness is the comic relief of life’ fits perfectly with the nature of the play’s humor. Performers Joseph and Partlow feel that much of the show’s success has been due in large part to those gals in red and purple who frequent performances wherever it’s presented. In fact, the touring version of ‘The Queen of Bingo’ was the entertainment at a Red Hat convention in Lapeer, Mich.”

Written by Jeanne Michels and Phyllis Murphy, “The Queen of Bingo” explores the worlds of Bingo, family ties, diet crazes, widowhood, hot flashes and winning. The audience even gets to join in the fun during the “”Middle Bird Special”” – a real Bingo game during which a lucky audience member wins a free 10 lb. frozen turkey.

“Loads of laughs!” wrote the Rock Island Leader. “Something for every audience… a fun romp” reported Eye-Spy LA.

“Sometimes people just want a good belly laugh, which is exactly what the show and the characters we play offer,” said “Sis,” actor Shane Partlow.

Tickets for “The Queen of Bingo” – $25 for Balcony and Orchestra and $30 for Plaza – are available on the web at www.durangoconcerts.com or by calling 970.247.7657. Or visit the Ticketing Services Offices in Downtown Durango at 7th and Main Ave. All sales final.

Showtime is 7 p.m., with doors to the Concert Hall and concessions, serving beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, opening at 6 p.m.

The Community Concert Hall is located in the growing arts complex of Fort Lewis College.  It operates through a partnership with the college, a state-supported, independent institution of higher education, as well as the city of Durango, and with financial and in-kind contributions from generous members of the community.
