“Concerts in the Park” series kicks off June 18 with Sky Pilot

Alpine Bank and Community Concert Hall offer free summer concerts in Buckley Park

Durango, CO – Four talented local musicians come together for an early evening of music as the band Sky Pilot kicks off the Alpine Bank-Community Concert Hall Concerts in the Park series, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Durango’s Buckley Park, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Sky Pilot is made up of Chad MacCluskey (guitar), Ryan McCurry (keyboards), Aaron Lombardo (drums) and Jim Belcher (base), diverse musicians who have been playing together throughout the region for the past four years and are currently working on their first recording.

Enjoying a wide variety of music styles, this power quartet combines elements of electronica, funk and rock music.

No tickets are required for Concerts in the Park, and no established seating is provided at Buckley Park. Patrons are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets.

Picnics are invited, although Fired Up Pizza will have the popular restaurant’s food cart at the park with food for sale.

Alpine Bank of Durango and the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College present the free summer concert series as a gift to the community. The series is designed to make live music more accessible to a broader community audience.

Buckley Park is located in the 1200 block of Main Ave. (between 12th and 13th streets) on the north end of Durango’s historic downtown. The Concerts in the Park series continues on up-coming Thursdays: June 25 – Tyller Gummersall Band, July 2 – Leftover Cuties, July 9 – Sneaky Pete and the Secret Weapons, July 16 – Doctor Roberts-Beatles Tribute, July 23 – Bacon, and July 30 – SHEL.
