Community Concert Hall-Alpine Bank conclude free Buckley Park concert series
Durango, CO – The free 2016 “Concerts @ the Park” series, presented by the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College and Alpine Bank, concludes Thursday, July 28, 2016, with Sneaky Pete and The Secret Weapons. The band will perform in Buckley Park, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Back for the third year by popular demand, the Jackson, Wyo. band offers original and popular dance tunes inspired by the “funkiness of life in the mountains.”
Sneaky Pete and The Secret Weapons continue to garner rave reviews across the Mountain West and along the Pacific Coast for the band’s high-energy, live performances. The six-man group has meshed a variety of sounds, from downtown jazz clubs and raucous New Orleans street parades, to exotic Latin ballrooms and late-night, laser-filled clubs.
Formed in late 2011 with the shared vision of “making funked noises,” Sneaky Pete’s cast of “Secret Weapons” include Jack Tolan (guitar/vocals), Sam Lowenthal (bass), Greg Meyers (percussion), Bobby Griffith (trumpet/vocals), Galen Karnatz (keys) and Phil Walker (drums).
“Not only is Sneaky Pete and The Secret Weapons a talented band musically, but their energy and the atmosphere they create is contagious,” said Stephen Carter, owner/operator, 307Live Productions. “They don’t just put on a show, they put on a party! I book this band when I want to do something special, because when they perform they blow the doors off.”
