Déjà Vu – Ladies Barbershop Quartet vies for National Prize

Deja Vu will represent Colorado in the national phase of the Sing! Competition, which was coordinated by Developers Diversified Realty, owner of thirteen properties nationwide. Aspen Grove Shopping Center in Littleton is hosting the Colorado competition. Sing! is a national vocal talent competition designed to shine the spotlight on choirs, choruses, gospel singers, glee clubs and vocal groups around the country.

Sing! has struck a chord with audiences, generating more than 600 entries nationwide and 150,000 votes from fans across the country. Déjà vu singers are all members of Sweet Adelines International and have been performing all over Colorado since 2002. They also perform in two larger choruses, Skyline Chorus with 150 + members and Bella Voce with 20 members.

These accomplished vocalists won the first two phases of the Colorado competition to advance to the third and final round. The competition begins on October 15th and runs through October 31st. On-line voting will determine the grand prize winner from contestants all over the country. The winning vocal group will be awarded the Grand Prize Package: $20,000 for their favorite charity, $5,000 in Developers Diversified Realty Corp. MasterCard Gift Cards and a once-in-a-lifetime experience with Emmy®-award-winning singer/songwriter Kevin Briody.

For the contest, the Denver based group learned one of Kevin Briody’s songs that will be posted at: http://aspengrove.2011sing.com for voting. If lucky enough to win, the group would donate the money to support their choruses and to the Young Singers Foundation – an official charity of the Sweet Adelines International which is committed to enriching the lives of young people by supporting the educational and performance opportunities in vocal music.

Support our Colorado group by viewing their song on the web site and sharing it with your friends. They will need lots of support to take home the national grand prize.  For more information on Deja Vu go to www.myspace.com/dejavuquartet.
