DURANGO, Colo. (KREX) – The historic Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is blowing it’s last whistle for the iconic Silverton steam train excursion and closing for the fall.
There’s only two weeks left to experience the fall colors on this historic railroad. The last steam locomotive will depart on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Railroad officials with the railroad tell WesternSlopeNow the train museum in Durango will be closed from Oct. 27 through Nov. 21 to prepare for the winter.
Winter excursions will begin on Friday, Nov. 22 with The Polar Express train ride and Cascade Canyon winter train.
