Durango Film brings some of the best independent films around to Durango, Colorado, a community full of outdoor adventure and excitement and voted “Next Big Thing” by Outside Magazine.
“The 10th year is definitely a milestone year for us,” says Durango Film Executive Director Joanie Fraughton. “We’ve survived the economic downturn and remained true to our mission in making this a film festival for the community, showcasing the art of independent filmmakers. The filmmakers who have come to the festival over the years have spread the word about the warm welcome they have received by the festival and the people of Durango. We have screened many Oscar® nominated and winning films over the years, but our mission remains to celebrate the art and passion of the independent filmmaker. We make an effort to treat each and every filmmaker like they are stars.”
