Durango Home & Ranch Show General Information
History/Facilities:
The Durango Home & Ranch show began in 1995 and has always been held at the La Plata County Fairgrounds,2500 Main Avenue, in Durango, Colorado.
The 2012 show dates are Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th. All vendors are screened and are required to display only “home related” products and services. This show is very focused on the home building and remodeling industry, and vendors can be assured that attendees will be looking specifically for the products and services they provide.
There are 130+ exhibit spaces, including indoor and outdoor spaces. The Extension Building is the venue for Fine Art and Functional Art. The Tented Courtyard and Outside Yard are reserved for larger product. In the Exhibit Hall, attendees will find everything from windows to plumbing to interior décor to mortgage lenders and real estate professionals.
Attendance:
The average attendance has been 6,000 people per show.
Show Hours:
Hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Exhibitors may enter the building one hour before show time each day. Set-up for the show is Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (no children or dogs, please). Any product deliveries to the grounds prior to the show must be arranged with the promoter, not the fairgrounds. Any exhibitor not set up on Friday forfeits his booth.
Tear-down begins at 4:01 on Sunday and not prior. Vendors removing goods prior to 4:01 will not be renewed the following year. Exhibitors requiring extra time to remove product from the grounds are asked to make arrangements directly with the Home Show Coordinator prior to the show weekend. Please do not bring children or dogs to the tear-down. This is a busy time with many large moving vehicles, and could be dangerous for them.
Parking:
The Fairgrounds has ample parking for attendees. Exhibitors are asked to park at the rear of the Exhibit Hall and/or the adjacent Durango High School parking lots.
Booth Furnishings:
The average indoor booth size is the industry standard 10 x 10. Backdrops and dividers are not provided by the show, vendors must bring whatever booth display they require. Tables (30 inches x 8 feet) and chairs are available at no charge. Vendors are required to fully skirt the tables to the floor and on sides that are open to the public, using professional skirting, tablecloths, sheets, or whatever works with their booth design. Any special electrical needs should be arranged through the Home Show Coordinator prior to the show set-up. Management discourages children under the age of 12 in the booth; older children who are assisting are welcome to participate.
Admission:
A donation of $2.00 is collected at the gate as admission fee. A non-profit organization is selected each year to staff the entrance and receive the gate fees for that organization.
Food:
One primary food vendor is invited to participate in the show. The main dining facility is in the Exhibit Hall and is open to the general public and the exhibitors throughout the show. A smaller dining area is in the Extension Building. In order to maintain a professional image, vendors are requested NOT to eat in their booths. Dining space is available at the food vendor’s area.
