This first weekend of May ushers in a favorite local event—The Durango Wine Experience. Thursday through Sunday, Durango will be filled with educational seminars, wine tastings, dinners, and more. Wines, artisan spirits, and craft beers will all be present, and top chefs feature their creations at the Grand Tasting Restaurant Showcase.
Some of the unique seminars include: Bourbon and Bon, Bons! (chocolate and whiskey pairing); Cinco de Drinko; Craft Beer and World Domination; Blends on Trend; and Wine Makers, Movers, and Shakers. With the variety of topics—rum, bourbon, and wine varieties—there’s sure to be a seminar you’ll enjoy.
Several local restaurants will feature special meals. Cyprus Café, Ore House, Seasons, and Chimayo each offer a special theme and unique pairings. These meals will be both educational and tasty, and this is a fun way to enjoy a local restaurant.
The Walk About Durango is one of the weekend’s largest featured events. It’s a multi-tasting event throughout Downtown Durango. Galleries, shops, and outdoor spaces are all among the locations that offer wines and light appetizers for this event, which occurs Friday evening. The Grand Tasting features 15 restaurants, 4 craft breweries, 11 distilleries, and wineries from all over the world, and will be held on Saturday evening.
