Free summer concert series in Durango’s Buckley Park returns Community Concert Hall and Alpine Bank team up for Thursday evening shows

Durango, CO – Following on the success of previous years, Alpine Bank of Durango and the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College have once again teamed up to present a special free summer concert series in Durango’s Buckley Park.

Alpine Bank and “Your Community Concert Hall” present “Concerts in the Park” on four consecutive Thursdays: July 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Buckley Park is located in the 1200 block of Main Ave. (between 12th and 13th streets) on the north end of Durango’s historic downtown.

“We truly enjoy making live music more accessible to a broader audience,” said Charles Leslie, Concert Hall director. “These past couple of years it has been so much fun to see music lovers of all ages and walks of life come out and enjoy a casual evening of music in the park. With the support of Alpine Bank, we are able to stage these four family-friendly evenings free of charge.”

The 2014 scheduled line-up is:
§ July 3 – Country music with Bayfield and also Nashville-based Tyller Gummersall Band
§ July 10 – Funk, groove, rock and more with Durango’s Groove Factor Four
§ July 17 – Rock-reggae-blues with Pagosa Springs-based band Elder Grown
§ July 24 – Groove and funk from Jackson Hole, Wyo.-based Sneaky Pete and the Secret Weapons

“We really love how the concerts in the park have evolved, and I’m looking forward to another great series of shows,” said Beth Drum, Alpine Bank senior vice president.

“Everybody is relaxed; enjoying the music, chatting with friends… little children dancing… It’s such a nice way to spend an early summer evening.”
