EVENT DESCRIPTION

Experience the Drama: “I Hate Hamlet” by Paul Rudnick, Directed by Monica DiBiasio

Television star Andrew Rally is facing the daunting task of stepping into the role of Hamlet, and he’s utterly terrified. Unsure of himself and grappling with career uncertainties, Andrew finds himself in a whirlwind of confusion. But just when he feels lost, he’s visited by the ghost of the legendary actor John Barrymore.

Barrymore reveals a tradition: every actor who takes on the iconic role of Hamlet is visited and mentored by their predecessors. Now, Andrew finds himself under Barrymore’s guidance, who refuses to leave until Andrew takes the stage as Hamlet. As Andrew navigates the pressures from his girlfriend urging him to become a romantic hero, his friend tempting him with a lucrative TV gig, and Barrymore pushing him towards his own theatrical greatness, he’s forced to confront the ultimate question: who does he want to be, or not to be?
