“Recently Domesticated” exhibit at the Friends of the Arts Library at the Durango Arts Center

New works by Heather Leavitt Martinez

Durango, CO, June 21, 2012: Recent works by Heather Leavitt Martinez will be on exhibit July and August at the Friends of the Arts Library (FOAL), located upstairs at the Durango Arts Center. There will be an opening reception Friday, July 6, 5:00-7:00 p.m. The event is free, the artist will be present, and refreshments will be served.

Illustrations and photographs from the internal landscape of Heather Leavitt Martinez, “Recently Domesticated” challenges common social paradigms and invites viewers to share their perspectives in this interactive exhibition.

Martinez is a Durango artist known for her alternative process photography, however her show at FOAL represents conceptual ideas around a theme. She is represented by Open Shutter Gallery and shows internationally.
