Reggae comes to the Community Concert Hall with Tribal Seeds

Special guest Fortunate Youth to open the show on Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m.

Durango, CO – Roots rock reggae comes to the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, with award-winning band Tribal Seeds. Special guest Fortunate Youth will open the show at 7:30 p.m. The dance floor will be open.

Tribal Seeds is known for its spiritually-driven, refreshing rock vibe infused with the roots style of reggae music. With albums named by iTunes as the “Best Of” in the reggae genre (Tribal Seeds and The Harvest), Tribal Seeds’ authentic sound has brought the group to the forefront of contemporary reggae rock. Often compared to the legendary group The Police, the band’s music spans generations and is embraced by a broad demographic.

In July 2011, Tribal Seeds gave listeners a new EP entitled Soundwaves, which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Reggae Charts. The band members note that the album was inspired by their life experiences, being on tour, and their desire to inspire youth to raise their voices and seek a higher consciousness.

Based in San Diego, Calif., Tribal Seeds was originally launched by brothers Steven Rene Jacobo (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Tony-Ray Jacobo (keyboard). The current line-up also includes Tony Navarro (lead guitar), Carlos Verdugo (drums), Jose Rodriquez (keyboard, percussion) and Victor Navarro (bass). The band members count Bob Marley, Steel Pulse and Midnite among their heavy influences, but Tribal Seeds is said to have created an art form for rebel music enthusiast all on its own.

Tribal Seeds’ special guest Fortunate Youth combines rootsy vibes and unique base lines designed to separate the band from other mainstream reggae bands. Featuring multiple harmonies, boisterous guitar solos and heavy keys, Fortunate Youth offers a high energy show designed to leave audiences feeling euphoric and eager to hear more.
