The Rocky Horror Picture Show premiered in 1975 at the Westwood Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and was considered to be a flop. Since its revival in 1976 at the Waverly Theatre when Louis Farese, a kindergarten teacher from Staten Island, yelled, “Buy an umbrella…!” Rocky Horror has become a cult classic of science fiction glam rock followed by millions of fans around the world. It has the longest running theatrical release in film history.
Audience members are encouraged to dress as their favorite Rocky Horror character and to purchase tickets early, as shows usually sell out. Tickets are $18 for students (must present a student ID), $20 for adults prior to the show, and $25 for adults at the door. Prop Throw bags will be available inside the theatre. Guests are asked to not throw anything at the stage for safety reasons, nor to bring their own Rocky Horror props to throw.
