Solo exhibit by Ann Smith featured at the Library

DURANGO, Colo. – A reception for Durango artist Ann Smith will he held Sunday, May 3, 3-5 p.m. in Program Rooms 1&2 at the Durango Public Library. The reception marks the opening of her solo exhibit, Ann Smith’s “Novel Approach” to Watercolors, which will run through June. 

Of her work, Smith said, “Most of my paintings evolve through the somewhat magical process of discovered imagery during which layer upon layer of transparent paint gradually reveals subject matter. Many of my paintings have been directly influenced by literature or music and sometimes images are drawn from remembered stories or places I’ve only imagined.” 

Saturday, June 27, 10-11 a.m., Smith will give an art demonstration in the Library’s Program Room 1. Her website address is: www.annsmithwatercolors.com.
