The 5th Annual Durango Heritage Celebration

Durango, CO – The Durango Heritage Celebration Steering Committee is pleased to announce that its fourth annual Heritage Celebration was a huge success! The 2012 event will be held in Durango, Colorado from Thursday, October 11 through Sunday, October 14, 2012. This event will again educate and entertain all who love Victorian and Old West history and wish to harken back to the time of Durango’s beginnings.

This event commemorates our town’s colorful and diverse history, focusing on the period from the town’s incorporation in 1881 until 1912. You’ll find that a large number of event goers will be dressed in authentic period attire throughout the celebration. We encourage everyone to join in the fun by donning your Victorian or Old West finery for any of our events, although costuming is generally optional. Period attire or modern formal wear is required at the Grand Victorian Ball. This event is open to the public. Be certain to bring your camera to this event. It is THE BEST for photo opportunities! This year our steering committee members will be taking photos at the various activities, which will be posted here on the website after the event, where they will be available for free download.
