True West Rodeo—A Durango Summer Past-time

Summertime in Durango means a plethora of activities from which to choose, and one of our favorites is the True West Rodeo. It only operates for a short window, and it’s in full swing now! It takes place at the La Plata County Fairgrounds on the following Wednesdays: June 19,26; July 3,10,17,31, and August 7.

The Rodeo events area a blast. Attendees can watch Saddle Bronc Riding, Ranch Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Mutton Bustin, Steer Riding, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding. It’s so much fun to get into the spirit of the rodeo, cheering for the contestants, and celebrating our Western culture. The Rodeo is an event for the whole family, and you can make a full night of it with food from T’s Smokehouse and other vendors who serve snacks and desserts. There’s also a beer tent for adults.

Tickets may be purchased at the gate or online. Summer flies by, and with the beautiful weather and long days of summer, the rodeo is an event you won’t want to miss. Here’s a link to the website for more details and information: https://truewestrodeo.com/.
