Deeply rooted in Funk and fully committed to the ongoing evolution of the genre, the Booty Band has a sound that is unique yet has the power and soul to create lasting melodies and seismic rhythms. Bringing their colorful, funky sound on Thursday March 21st, The Summit will certainly be the place to get your groove on.

Formed in 2002, the group has averaged over 150 shows per year for over a decade. Each performance is a high energy musical and visual experience that leaves crowds all across the country breathless. With their eccentric outfits, and animated stage presence each musician exudes their expertise and artfulness while performing at some of the nations hottest festivals, such as Wakarusa, Jam Cruise Deluna Fest and Telluride Blues and Jazz Fest and with some of funks legendary names including George Clinton and The Parliment Funkadelics, Galactic, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Soul Asylum and MC Hammer. With a new album in the works at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC (projected release date: March 2013), a new remix album entitled Re-Doin’ It Hard which debuted on Sept. 18 2012, and tour in full swing, they are certainly artists to watch.

Under the expert ear of Echo Mountain Studios, located in Asheville, NC, the group will be recording their third original studio album and are expecting a cleaner and more refined sound while still delivering the edgy, driving rhythms that are truly Booty. Relentlessly pursuing the development of their style, the new project will feature a couple tracks that slow down into some seriously deep grooves, allowing the band to explore the scope of their abilities even further.

The Booty Band’s current winter/spring tour schedule is taking them through the South, the North and even out to the Midwest. Excited to play anywhere from intimate venues to large clubs and dance halls, the Booty Band strives to continually support and entertain their ever-widening fanbase, while still finding time to have fun together. Some of their off time on tours have included dog sledding, car bowling and hiking parts of the Grand Canyon (feel free to change this, but I think the extensive tour schedule paired with your want to enjoy yourselves as a band is a very good story that I could see the press being interested in interviewing on).

Doin’ It Hard, their sophomore studio release, is a reflection of the Booty Band’s approach to music, touring, performing, and to life in general. Recorded at City of Progress Studios in Miami, FL under the cultivated ear of DJ leSpam, Doin’ It Hard is Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band – next-generation, redefined for a new decade.
