Zydeco “Party-Gras” with Mo’ Mojo at “Concerts @ the Park” July 14
Community Concert Hall and Alpine Bank continue free summer concert series in Buckley Park
Durango, CO – High energy, Zydeco-based “Party-Gras” band Mo’ Mojo comes to Buckley Park as the Alpine Bank-Community Concert Hall free “Concerts @ the Park” series continues Thursday, July 14, 2016, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Mo’ Mojo takes Zydeco music and infuses it with Americana, Cajun, reggae, rock & roll, funk, R&B and African and Latin rhythms. Sure to bring dancers to their feet, Mo’ Mojo is a female fronted group featuring three-part harmonies. Songs are sung in English and French.
Band members, all of whom are multi-instrumentalists, are Jen Maurer (vocals, diatonic accordion, guitar), Leigh Ann Wise (vocals, rubboard, trumpet, percussion), Anthony Papaleo (vocals, fiddle, guitar), Joe Golden (guitar, talk box), Darren Thompson (bass) and Will Douglas (drums).

Designed to make live music more accessible to a broader community audience, the “Concerts @ the Park” shows require no tickets and offer a family-friendly environment for enjoying a diverse music line-up. Concertgoers are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets, as seating is not provided at Buckley Park. Fired Up Pizzeria and Schlotzsky’s will offer food for sale at the park, but picnics are invited.
Buckley Park is located in the 1200 block of Main Ave. (between 12th and 13th streets) on the north end of Durango’s historic downtown.
The 2016 “Concerts @ The Park” schedule continues the following two weeks with:
- July 21 – Paa Kow – “The Groove Master” fuses rhythm and artistry from his home in Ghana with jazz and African pop.
- July 28 – Sneaky Pete and the Secret Weapons – Jackson, Wyo. band with original and popular dance tunes inspired by the “funkiness of life in the mountains.” Back by popular demand!
