Durango, CO 81301 – Join in the fun and festivities as we celebrate 131 years of service to Silverton, Colorado!

Friday, May 3rd: We’ll kick off the opening of summer service to Silverton with the annual FREE PICNIC and community celebration at the Durango depot. We’ll be grilling hot dogs to serve with chips and soda from 11:00AM -2:00PM. Watch for Snoopy to be dancing to the beat of the Bar-D Wranglers strumming and singing some great Colorado songs!

We’ll have the new Maintenance of Way tamper on display as well as some of the D&SNG Premium-class cars. As part of our ongoing green efforts, we will be giving out tree seedlings to the first 300 people ready to adopt and care for them.

Saturday, May 4th: The Silverton Train departs Durango at 8:45AM for a 12:15PM arrival in Silverton. Pioneers will be on board to tell a bit of history during the train ride!

The D&S offers a complimentary continental breakfast at the Silverton depot at 10th & Cement Streets from 10:00 – 11:30AM. The town of Silverton welcomes the train with festivities and townspeople dressed from the Victorian era.
