Durango, CO – The Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center honored Terryl Peterson as the Advisor of the Year for 2014. The award was presented by Joe Keck, Executive Director of the SBDC, at the 5th July 24 in front of the 270 attendees. Peterson has been an advisor for five years, regularly making time to consult with clients regarding the financial aspects of running a business. She helps clients do budgets and financial projections to get an accurate picture of what overhead, expenses and salaries will look like. Peterson received a BA in Accounting from Fort Lewis, an MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver, and became of CPA in 1987. She is also holds the designation as a CVA, Certified Valuation Analyst, which she earned from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts in 2013. Peterson garnered most of her expertise working as the Chief Financial Officer for 15 years for Durango-based Lore International (now called Korn/Ferry), a leadership and executive development company.
Peterson now owns, Terryl Peterson, CFO, LLC, where she focuses on small to mid-size business in all phases of development. Services include Planning and Budgeting, Implementation and Management, Valuation and ExitKeck explains that Peterson was chosen because, “Terryl brings such a breadth of experience and skills to her mentoring with SBDC clients.
