Debra Parmenter named to Fort Lewis College Foundation Executive Board
Debra Parmenter has been elected to serve on the Fort Lewis College Foundation’s Executive Board of Directors.
A realtor with more than 30 years of experience in the Durango area, Ms. Parmenter is a longtime supporter of Fort Lewis College. She is a graduate of Fort Lewis and later served as the president of the Fort Lewis College Alumni Association.
“I’ve known Debra Parmenter as a pillar of the community and as a friend since I bought a house here in 1992,” says Jim Foster, president of the Fort Lewis College Foundation Board of Directors, “and I respect her greatly for her honesty and integrity.”
Ms. Parmenter has been honored numerous times for her professional work and community service. She is a former Realtor of the Year and has received the Coldwell Banker Preserving the Trust Award, the Distinguished Service Award, and was only one of five realtors in the United States to receive the Good Neighbor Award for outstanding community leadership in 2001. She was also named the 2001 Volunteer of the Year by the Durango Chamber of Commerce and the Athena Award as Businesswoman of the Year in 2004.
The Fort Lewis College Foundation’s Executive Board is the body charged with directing the Foundation’s activities. As the main fundraising entity for Fort Lewis College, the Foundation is charged with raising money for such things as student scholarships, faculty and staff grants, and capital construction campaigns.
