DURANGO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES VIDEO CONTEST
DURANGO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES VIDEO CONTEST
ATTENTION ASPIRING MOVIE PRODUCERS: I LOVE DURANGO VIDEO CONTEST
It is rumored that Steven Spielberg started with some friends and a home movie camera. A few million feet of film later he was an international sensation. You don’t need to use millions of feet of celluloid, just an SD card or two, and you too can become an international sensation. Picture yourself walking the Red Carpet, signing autographs, winning an Oscar. OK, so you can’t win an Oscar, but you can win fabulous prizes and cold hard cash in the first Durango Chamber of Commerce’s
“I Love Durango Video Contest”.
The rules are simple: Create a 90 second or less video that shows why you love Durango. What is it that made you come to Durango and decide to call our little slice of heaven home? Perhaps it was the many restaurants? Or avoiding bears in the wilderness…or seeing them on Main! Maybe you love the scenery (we mean the outdoors, boys). For some of you it may have been the beer (after all, everything is better with beer). Whatever the reason you love Durango, put it in on film and your video could be on the new Durango Chamber of Commerce website, to be viewed by locals and visitors on the World Wide Web! The three finalists will have their videos shown at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Event, where the Winner will be awarded $500 cash + prizes, 2nd Place will receive $250 cash + prizes and 3rd Place will receive $125 cash + prizes.
The best message will win. If your video is more “Plan 9 from Outer Space”
than “Citizen Kane,” that’s OK. If your story is creative, and you can really tell why you Love Durango, you will score more points than that guy down the block, you know him, the one who gets a new camera to keep up with his kids’ soccer practice-new year, new camera.
Find out what you need to know to enter, including the AGREEMENT FORM and GUIDELINES by visiting the Chamber’s new website and click on the “About the Chamber” button.
So call your cousin, the one who was in the chorus of the 8th grade school pageant, that friend who thinks she could be the next big thing, include the kids, the dog, the neighbor’s dog… and shoot some video.
