Have You Registered Your Cell Phone or Internet Phone for Reverse 9-1-1 Notifications?

Durango, CO – La Plata County’s emergency notification system (commonly referred to as “Reverse 9-1-1”) is used in emergencies by emergency responders to notify residents of incidents that may affect their homes or their safety. Now, residents may register up to five cell phones or VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) numbers with a physical street address which will ensure that emergency notifications are received even when residents are not at home or if they don’t have a land line.

Residents are encouraged to sign up before an emergency, as it takes a few days for all systems to be updated with new phone numbers.

To sign up, visit the County’s homepage at www.co.laplata.co.us and click on the “emergency alert” button on the left side of the home page.
