Heating/cooling information workshop set for Oct. 21

La Plata Electric continues information series for residents/businesses

As part of its continuing effort to help members “save their energy,” La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) will host a “Heating/Cooling Workshop,” Thursday, Oct. 21, 8 a.m. to noon at LPEA’s headquarters in Bodo Industrial Park. Lunch will be served.

Contractors, heating/air conditioning installers and the interested general public are invited to attend this free educational workshop to explore the latest innovations in energy efficient space heating and cooling, as well as the rebates currently available to those installing new systems.

The workshop will include presentations from manufacturer’s representatives discussing heat pump water heaters, electric thermal storage heat and ground source heat pumps. LPEA members who have installed each of the aforementioned will also speak to their unit’s efficiency, effectiveness and more.

“We’ve found that so many of our members still are not familiar with these alternative electric heating and cooling options,” said Suzy Bynum, LPEA energy management advisor. “We hope to also educate our local installers and contractors so they too can let their clients know the different options that are available.”

For further information, or to RSVP, those interested in attending are asked to contact Bynum at [email protected] or 382.3506.

LPEA, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, provides to its more than 30,000 members with in excess of 43,000 meters, safe, reliable electricity at the lowest reasonable cost, while being environmentally responsible. For additional information, visit www.lpea.coop.
